Jack drove under the MLG tent since Parolin was not supporting the race. Alongside Jack was his brother, Oscar, racing in OKJ for the first time and at Lonato for the first time.
Jack did not get a chance to practice at Lonato before the season started, so Wednesday and Thursday were about finding his rhythm and getting up to pace. The last practice session on Thursday saw Jack amongst the fastest.
Friday saw Jack qualify and race two heats. Qualifying was tough. Jack felt he lacked lateral grip and didn’t have confidence in the kart and his qualifying reflected. Jack qualified P16 in group P31 overall, placing him in group C.
In the first two heats, Jack made a great start, but his race craft was a little rusty. The kart wasn't to his liking, so he spent the day exploring set-up changes.
On Saturday, Jack had a much better final heat. He was assertive and confident. Setup changes to his kart worked, and Jack had a decent heat. That evening Jack made it through the qualifying heats P24.
Jack started Pre-final B in P12 and finished P11. Jack had made the final!
Jack started the final P24. He had a great race, finishing P12.
A massive thank you to the two legends that support Jack at each race Mirco Anelli, Jack's Mechanic and Lorenzo Travisanutto, Jack's passionate and inspiring coach.
This race would not have been possible without the MLG team. If you want to race in Italy, you should talk to them; they are awesome and made both my sounds feel at home in the team. Finally, a massive thank you to GFR Engines for the mega TM OKJ power!!
